The graffiti contest will gather 12 teams consisting of maximum 5 writers (participation is by invitation only). There will be 3 evaluation criteria upon following points:

• originality: crews point of view upon the given theme
• style: crews power to stand out with artistic style (complexity, characters, colors, effects, shades, etc.)
• performance: the time given, each crew will be checked from time to time to check progress (time to do paper-sketch and put onto wall, etc.).

Prize: 5000 EUR – cash

Concept painting – Murals

Each crew will have to perform a piece together within 22 hours under the following conditions: same colours (50 types of colours Montana Black 400ml), same topic (provided by the judges few minutes before the competition starts, same time: 22 hours for everybody to perform). The 22 hours will be divided on 3 days, as it follows:

• 1st day: at 12:00 all crews must be present at the event for receiving the topic of the mural competition. this day will end at 06:00 pm as all crews will have to stop painting and continue the next day
• 2nd day: starts at 11:00am and ends at 6:00pm. as the day before, the painting will continue on the 3rd day.
• 3rd day: starts at 11:00am and ends at 6:00pm. after 6:00pm, within 1hr time, the winners will be announced.

Freestyle throw ups

During the 2nd day, at 2:00pm, one member of each crew performs a throw up under the following conditions: same colors (2 types of Montana Black 400ml or Montana Gold 400ml) which can be either black and chrome, or 2 colours that the jury will decide; same word (provided by the organizing crew a few seconds before the competition starts, same time: 90 seconds to perform for everybody).

Freestyle hand-styles – Tags

During the 2nd day, at 4:00pm, one member of each crew performs a tag under the following conditions: one Montana marker (Montana BOMBING Marker, 20 mm T-tip), same word (provided by the organizing crew a few seconds before the competition starts, same time: 300 seconds to perform for everybody), on canvas.

Freestyle sketching

During the 3rd day, one member of each crew performs a sketch under the following conditions: same markers (24 type of COPIC sketch and TOUCH markers, also spray-paint allowed to use), same word (provided by the judges few seconds before the competition starts, same time: 120 minutes for everybody), ON CANVAS ,canvas size: 20cm x 30 cm. the minimum covering of the sketch to taken into consideration is 70% of the total surface of the canvas.

ALL CITY WRITERS EXPO
• Expozitia se desfasoara in perioada: 01.07.2010 – 15.07.2010

Proiectul “ALL CITY WRITERS” este rezultatul unei ample cercetari asupra miscarii graffiti, axata in special asupra procesului de transmitere al acesteia din New York in toata Europa in perioada anilor ’80.

“ALL CITY WRITERS” cauta sa documenteze evolutia si consecintele fenomenului cultural denumit “graffiti”, responsabil pentru provocarea multor schimbari in estetica si comunicarea societatii moderne.

Cartea “ALL CITY WRITERS” de Andrea Caputo este publicata prin Kitchen93 si sustinuta de Carhartt.

“ALL CITY WRITERS” contine 1230 de poze, 620 de articole, 410 pagini color si mai bine de 250 de writeri implicati in contributia cartii. “ALL CITY WRITERS” devine astfel unul dintre cele mai importante proiecte din literatura graffiti, proiect prin care totodata se reflecta cat de mult aceasta cultura a fost asimilata de societate.

Atmosfera senzationala, MULTA lume (cu mult mai multa decat m-am asteptat), free drinks (bere, suc, energizant, apa). Muzica a fost inoculata de Gojira si The Model.

Printre expozanti: Cage (colectia M-card), Serm, Neon si Pisica Patrata.

O actiune extrem de reusita din punct de vedere organizatoric! Prea putini erau insa interesati de ce-au produs artistii. Cred ca 50% dintre cei veniti au perceput evenimentul exclusiv ca pe unul de socializare, trendiness (nu stiu daca exista cuvantul, dar intelegeti ce-am vrut sa spun) si nicidecum ca pe unul de prezentare de arta.

Una peste alta a fost un eveniment binevenit, pe care am dori sa-l vedem cat mai des reeditat.

Cu: Vali Chincisan, Dan Miron, aka KOTKI Visuals, Pisica Patrata, Vlad Eftenie, Gojira, Radu Muntean aka The Model & Alina Dobre, impreuna cu inca 3 artisti graffiti vor expune in interiorul a 2 vagoane de metrou.

Locurile sunt limitate, asa ca, daca vrei sa ajungi la prima petrecere la metrou din Romania, pe 27 mai, da un mail la goingunderground@experimentalist.ro cu numele tau si al persoanelor care te insotesc cu specificatia [pisica patrata].

Asigura-te ca sunteti pe lista ca sa puteti intra.

Multumim, Ciubi

Despre album si aventura intocmirii sale vor vorbi, alaturi de autor, Daria Ghiu (care semneaza si prefata cartii) si directorul editurii Vellant, Dan Plesa. In timpul lansarii, Alex Ciubotariu, cunoscut pasionatilor de street art si sub numele de Ciubi sau Pisica Patrata, va acorda celor prezenti un autograf special: un desen original marca Pisica Patrata.

Albumul, aparut cu sprijinul agentiei de publicitate Graffiti BBDO, aduna laolalta mostre ale trecerii Pisicii Patrate prin Bucuresti, Constanta sau Chisinau si ii ofera cititorului ocazia de a (re)vedea atat desene noi, cat si lucrari care nu se mai regasesc “pe teren”, fiind sterse de autoritati sau dezlipite de cei care au vrut sa ia acasa creatiile lui Ciubi.

O forma de luare in stapanire a spatiului urban, prin resemnificarea acestuia cu ajutorul spray-ului, a colajelor si a vopselei, lucrarile din “Pisica Patrata” arata o alta fata a oraselor pe care credeam ca le cunoastem. “Eu vreau sa infrumusetez orasul, nu sa-l vandalizez”, spunea intr-un interviu autorul volumului. Iar fotografiile incluse in acest album demonstreaza ca orice colt abandonat, nefolosit si golit de sens al orasului poate fi “salvat” de la monotonie prin transformarea sa intr-un reper urban cu o identitate desenata.

O interventie salvatoare si reparatorie in spatiul public, personajul Pisica Patrata a devenit emblematic pentru street art-ul bucurestean. Cap patrat, dinti ascutiti, fata vesela ori furioasa, trista, vag incomodata, inghesuita – Pisica Patrata poate fi admirata de-acum incolo nu numai in oras, ci si in biblioteca.

Traiesc printre noi, dar nu-i cunoastem. Prin nimic nu-si tradeaza pasiunea ascunsa aproape de viciu. Ei sunt cei care ne deseneaza orasul. CAGE a acceptat sa vorbeasca despre pasiunea sa ilegala, dar numai din spatele anonimatului pentru a nu avea probleme cu autoritatile care ii vaneaza pe cei ca el. A inceput sa deseneze in urma cu 11 ani, pe cand era elev la liceu. Acum se poate considera un veteran al graffiti-ului din Romania.

Oamenii de la Cast (Celalalt si Heas) lanseaza primul videoclip oficial de graffiti din Romania! Vor sustine apoi un concert de lansare a single-ului “E graffiti!!!”, cantand atat piese abia extrase din studio ce vor fi incluse pe cel de al doilea material al lor, cat si piese pe care fanii deja le cunosc.

In a doua faza a show-ului ii veti vedea pe RapArta (Gnom si Costel), care vor antrena publicul cu piese clasice, dar vor interpreta si piese in premiera! Il veti putea asculta si pe Costel aka Acelash, cu niste piese de pe primul sau album solo “E bine rau”, album lansat recent.
